Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 29: Jodhamal School, in collaboration with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Jammu Chapter, organized a heartwarming event where students of Jodhamal Public School visited the Suchetgarh Indo-Pak Border in RS Pura, Jammu and Kashmir, to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with the soldiers stationed there. Forty students from Classes 5 and 6, accompanied by teachers and school staff, visited the border at 9:30 am. The students tied Rakhis to the soldiers, expressing their empathy, love, and respect for the soldiers who serve as the first line of defense for the country. The students also distributed sweets and presented a box of Rakhis and chocolates to the Assistant Commandant of the Border Security Force (BSF) for further distribution among soldiers at the forward posts.
Amidst patriotic chants and emotions running high, the young students tied Rakhis on the soldiers’ wrists and thanked them for their courage and dedication to protecting the nation. The students were guided by soldiers and officers who explained the significance of the Suchetgarh border, international relations, and answered the students’ questions. The students’ Rakhis were made with love and care during their Art & Craft activities. These Rakhis carried deep emotions and gratitude for the soldiers, symbolizing the students’ connection with the nation’s defenders. The students also visited the Flag Post on the Indian side and saw the International Border, gaining a deeper understanding of the border’s importance.
This meaningful initiative was coordinated by school staff and teachers along with INTACH, Jammu Chapter. The Trustee of the School, Mr. Nandan Kuthiala, praised the students for their patriotic efforts, stating that such activities nurture a sense of empathy and patriotism in children.
Mrs. Arati Kuthiala, Director of the School, also commended the students for their genuine celebration of Rakhi this year, highlighting the importance of honoring the soldiers’ contributions to the country’s safety and security.
