9/1/2023 10:39:10 PM
Early Times Report
RAMGARH, Sept 1: In a significant initiative aimed at raising awareness about the dire consequences of drug abuse, the Fine Arts Club at Government Degree College Ramgarh organized a Slogan Writing Competition. This event, held under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, sought to unite efforts towards achieving a drug-free society. Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the Principal of the College, provided invaluable guidance and supervision for this noble cause.
Students exhibited exceptional enthusiasm and fervor as they participated in the competition, with a total of 13 students showcasing their creative talents. The slogans they crafted carried a powerful message of hope and served as compelling reasons for drug abusers to distance themselves from harmful substances. These slogans hold the potential to bring about a significant shift in attitudes towards drug abuse and serve as a source of inspiration for those seeking recovery.
The competition results were as follows:
Kirandeep Kour, Sem III: Secured the first position with her impactful slogan.
Chahat Sapolia, Sem III: Bagged the second prize for her thought-provoking slogan.
Arpana, Sem III: Clinched the third position, contributing to the event's success with her creative slogan.
Prof. Risha Kumari, Convener of the Fine Arts Club and the organizing secretary of the event, highlighted the broader purpose behind such initiatives. She emphasized the importance of preventing youth involvement in violence, drugs, and crime through sports, art, and psychosocial support. Creating awareness about drug abuse is a collective responsibility, and starting with slogans is an effective way to initiate this dialogue. These slogans can be shared through word of mouth, spreading awareness like wildfire.
Dr. Sandeep Kumar further emphasized the impact of such events in creating widespread awareness, especially among the youth and children in society, regarding the detrimental effects of drug abuse. Involving young individuals in expressing their creativity on this crucial theme is a step in the right direction.
The event was meticulously organized by Prof. Risha Kumari, the Convener of the Fine Arts Club, and garnered the support of dedicated faculty members, including Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Shamsher Lal, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Prof. Risha Kumari, Dr. Shivali Choudhary, Dr. Rahul Kundal, and Dr. Ekta Rani. Together, they laid the foundation for a brighter, drug-free future for the community and the nation at large.
