| Peerzada pays tributes to Gandhi | | | Early Times report
JAMMU JANUARY 31- On the 61st martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation-Mahatma Gandhi, Minister for Education and Public Enterprises Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, paid rich tributes to the great leader of humanity. He said that the Gandhian concepts of non-violence, self-sacrifice and truthfulness were as relevant today as at any point of time in the history of the world.
The Minister was addressing at a function, organized by Mahatma Gandhi Welfare Forum, here at Gandhi Chowk, Satwari. A large number of Gandhians, students from various schools and officers of Education Department attended the function.
Peerzada said that the world was caught in the scourge of terrorism and clash of civilizations which result in cultural wars, adding that if Gandhian principles are put into practice the world will become a better place to live in.
Describing Gandhiji as one of the greatest liberators of mankind, Peerzada said that he gave a new philosophy to the nation. He said that Gandhiji’s faith in God and human values was firm and his love for truth deep. Calling him, as a leader who influenced the history of the world, he said that Gandhiji mobilized people from different races, religions and regions for independence.
