Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Sept 2: Prof. Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, Principal of Government Post Graduate College Rajouri, inaugurated the Digital Week program, marking the commencement of a week-long celebration of Digital J&K Week from August 31st to September 6th, 2023. The primary objective of this initiative is to empower the public by raising awareness about the array of e-services offered by various government departments.
The college organized an informative awareness program on various e-services, targeting a significant number of students. Participants were enlightened about online services such as "Aap ka Mobile Hamara Daftar" (UMANG), e-UNNAT, DigiLocker Digi-Dost (Doorstep delivery of services), CSC-Aadhaar Seva Kendras at Block Level, and a multilingual chatbot. These services are designed to enhance transparency and accessibility in the delivery of government services to the citizens.
A special committee was formed to orchestrate this meaningful event, composed of esteemed members including Prof. Supriya Gupta, Prof. Rabia Koser, and Dr. Divya Mahajan. Their collective efforts have ensured the seamless execution of this initiative, aimed at promoting digital literacy and e-governance.
As part of Digital J&K Week, a series of engaging activities have been planned. These include a Poster and Painting competition centered around the theme "Digital Initiatives by Govt. of J&K," where students can showcase their artistic talents while spreading awareness. Additionally, an Essay Writing competition will provide a platform for participants to express their thoughts on the importance of digital transformation and its impact on the state.
The launch of Digital J&K Week at Government Post Graduate College Rajouri reflects the commitment of educational institutions and government bodies to bridge the digital divide and bring government services closer to the citizens. Through these initiatives, the college aims to equip the younger generation with the knowledge and tools needed to participate actively in the digital era.
