Deputy Commissioner reviews Progress of PMGSY Projects in District Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Sept 2: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, today presided over a crucial meeting in the Mini Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex. The meeting brought together the departmental officials to comprehensively assess the advancements made under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the district.
The discussions during the meeting encompassed several critical facets, including Physical and Financial Progress, Black-Topping, Forest Clearance Challenges, Current Status of Roads, Actions Taken to Address Issues, and Timelines for Resolutions through Consistent Monitoring. Land acquisition and compensation matters were also meticulously deliberated.
To initiate the proceedings, SE PMGSY, Satvir Singh, delivered a power-point presentation highlighting the developmental projects underway in the PMGSY sector within the district. Notably, a total of 478 schemes have been sanctioned across Phase I, II, and III under the PMGSY sector, with 374 schemes successfully completed to date.
During the comprehensive review of PMGSY projects on a road and divisional basis, the DC issued directives to relevant authorities to expedite the pace of work and align with the government's set targets within specified timelines. Executing agencies received instructions to promptly commence maintenance activities on all PMGSY roads throughout the district.
The DC underscored the importance of addressing pending issues and removing any bottlenecks on a priority basis to prevent delays in road construction and project execution.
The DC further urged officers to maintain constant vigilance over the progress of work and ensure the protection of existing public utilities to avoid any inconvenience for the public. Executing agencies were urged to accelerate their efforts, mobilize resources efficiently, and guarantee the timely completion of ongoing projects.
