Bhaderwah, Jan 31- The government employees of mountainous district Doda who were deployed as polling staff in recently conducted Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir have not yet been paid the honorarium promised to them. In a press statement issued here today the employees alleged that they have not been paid the honorarium which was due to them in lieu of the duty they rendered in recently held elections. "We were posted as polling and presiding officers during the elections 2008 but no honorarium was given to us till date" Dr. Tamkin claimed. He demanded honorarium for the employees who performed their duties during elections in District Doda and said there was a clear government order bearing Nos.1448-GAD of 2008 dated-31-10-2008 which authorized each employee for a special incentive of Rupees ten thousands including TA/DA charges and same was to be paid by the concerned Deputy Commissioners. He said the deputy commissioners have not received any remuneration for performing the Assembly election duty so for. Another employee said that they approached DC Doda and requested him for early payment of the incentive admissible under rules. "We appeal Chief Electoral Officer to look into the matter and release the funds for the purpose" Amir Rafeqee said adding if government fails to pay the remuneration the employees will be demoralized and will not participate in coming Lok-Shaba elections.
