Early Times Report
DARHAL, Sept 5: Teacher's Day, celebrated on September 5th every year in India, is a day dedicated to honoring and expressing gratitude to teachers. This auspicious day also marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a distinguished scholar, philosopher, recipient of Bharat Ratna, and the first Vice-President and second President of Independent India. As a fervent advocate of education, he left an indelible mark as an exceptional envoy, academician, and, above all, a great teacher. To commemorate this day, the NSS Unit (IMDAD) of GDC Darhal organized a special Speech and Poetry Recitation program, shedding light on the remarkable contributions and vital roles that teachers play in our lives.
The students of GDC Darhal participated in the event with boundless enthusiasm and fervor. They paid tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by sharing his inspirational quotes on their social media accounts. In their speeches, the students expressed profound gratitude to their teachers and highlighted the transformative role teachers play in nurturing and shaping young minds, bringing out their latent potential, and helping them realize their dreams. The poetry recitation performances by the students added an artistic and heartfelt touch to the program.
The entire event was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah, the Principal of GDC Darhal. In his address, he extended his heartfelt wishes to all the teachers on this special day, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping the future of the nation.
Dr. Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi, HOD Arabic and Senior Faculty Member of the College, emphasized that teachers are the true icons of knowledge, inspiration, motivation, and wisdom. They illuminate the path of knowledge, instilling awareness among students, and serve as beacons of light in a world that can often be darkened by ignorance.
Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, NSS Program Officer, reiterated that teachers are the real pillars of society. They not only impart knowledge but also help students develop skills, build confidence, and guide them toward the path of success.
Dr. Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Prof. Tahir Mahmood, and Dr. Mohd Riaz also shared their insights on the significance of teachers and their invaluable contributions to society.
The event was impeccably coordinated by the dedicated NSS volunteers of the College and concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Makhdoom Ahmed, HOD Mathematics.
