9/5/2023 9:59:46 PM
Early Times Report
JHAJJAR KOTLI, Sept 5: In a significant operation conducted during the intervening night of September 4th and 5th, 2023, the police party of Police Station Jhajjar Khotli intercepted a vehicle at the Sukehtar checkpoint. The vehicle, a truck bearing registration number JK02DD-9185, was en route from Jammu towards Udhampur when it was stopped.
Upon inspection, the police made a distressing discovery. The truck was found to be loaded with 27 bovine animals, all of which were being transported in a merciless and cruel manner. The animals were subjected to inhumane conditions, without access to fodder and water. Furthermore, the transportation lacked any valid District Magistrate's permission, as required by law.
In response to this distressing situation, the police took immediate action. The vehicle was seized, and the driver was promptly arrested. The primary concern was the welfare of the 27 bovine animals, and they were subsequently rescued from their harsh and inhumane conditions.
Cognizance of this incident has been officially taken, and a thorough investigation will be conducted to ascertain the full scope of the matter. The authorities are committed to ensuring that justice is served, and that those responsible for the mistreatment of the animals are held accountable under the law.
The police in Jhajjar Khotli are dedicated to upholding the welfare of all living beings and will continue to take stringent actions against any form of cruelty and illegal activities.
