| Am I communal? | | |
Raman Sharma Is it right to doubt a religious person's patriotism and can't be a religious person secular ? The debate is not to confuse but to seek the answer. Of course a religious person can also be a nationalistic and it is immoral to suspect the secular credibility of a religious person. If I am a Hindu and follow my religious rites thoroughly, I go to temple and put a saffron Tilak on my forehead and chant the Mantras of Lord Shiva. If I try to preach the teaching of my religion to others and follow all the Do's and Don'ts of Hinduism. Being a Hindu it is my duty to work for the upliftment and promotion of the religion proliferation and it is also my duty to stand against anyone for the dignity of my faith and religion. It is also my religious duty to fight for the cause of Hinduism. But, often people are confused with this love of a person with his/her religion and blame the person as communal but it is wrong to Judge, Secularism never means to give up your own religion and criticise those following it. Though I am sorry but truthful to say that today a section of the Indian Society is feeling proud to criticize their own people, it is not only among Hindus but even in other religious also in confusion and haste the Pseudo-Secular people take no time to tag anyone as communal. A distinction is to be made between, the religious and communal. It is not necessary that a religious person will be communal and communal will be religious. We also need to note that all the secular people are also not non-believers, but yes it is the duty of self acclaimed secular people to make a clear distinction between those who love their religion and those who hate other religions. The word secular is often confused here in India and interpreted by people accordingly to their convenience. The pious document of democracy, the constitution of India Guatees every citizen to follow or not to follow any religion. To be a secular you need not to visit the religious shrines of every religion or to criticize the believers of any religion. Even a non-beliver can also be a communal, if She/He criticize the faith of others. The debate is never ending but let's hope atleast now the people stop the phrase communal. If anyone finds this deabate being-bored, obseleted, communal, religious or secular or have to say anything on it, s/he is welcome.
