| Let Obama work for world peace | | |

Elected in November last, Barak Hussein Obama, took oath as 44th president of the United States of America on 20th Jan 2009. Over 20 lac people had gathered in Washington to witness the ceremony. This is first time in the history of US that a black has become the president. He relieved George W. Bush who remained two terms president for 8 years. Belonging to Democrat Party, Obama has many challenges inherited from the previous regime of Republicans. Bush had invaded Iraq, Afganistan and US forces are still there. US is suffering in terms of manpower as well financially for keeping forces there. In his speech after oath, Obama hinted of withdrawal from Iraq and of establishing peace in Afganistan. It means that US led forces shall continue in Afganistan overlooking Pakistan. Fight against terrorism (War Against Terror as they call it) has to be continued by Obama regime also.
In his speech, Obama was pointing out economic recession- US is going through. In fact US present budget is one Trillion Dollars deficit. Similar was the condition of USSR when she was involved in Afganistan and this led to its ultimate disintegration. Remaining at the top, a superpower, itself is a problem. US has started feeling the pinch of economic pressure for remaining at top of the world. Europeans have grouped together as European Union with EURO currency. Japan and China have developed their economies and are every where in market competition. It is not so easy for US to keep on market competition and also remain a super cop of the world. Bringing forth Obama by the White dominated US society, is their compulsion. It is not that earlier, there were no competent leaders among blacks, but during the earlier times, there was no need for that. Today, US has involved itself directly with forces in Iraq, Afganistan besides has declared general war against terrorism and fundamentalism, though earlier supported by her for its own interests. Islamic Fundamentalist groups have started pleading the cause of entire community clubbing it with that of nation states pitting against US led imperialism. So it was necessary for the US establishment to give new face to the world that they are not anti-Islam or only a society of whites. Coming to fore of Obama will not make much difference in US establishment but it can build new confidence among the Afro-Asians living in USA. This will also blunt anti-US hatred in many parts of the world, which was utilized by terrorist groups also. Let Obama work for world peace and allow independence of nation states.
