JAMMU, Sept 6: On the occasion of National Blood Donation Day, the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) and the NSS Unit of Government Degree College, Pouni, organized a poster making and slogan writing event aimed at raising awareness about blood donation. This meaningful event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Udhay Bhanu, Principal of GDC Pouni, with the coordination of Prof. Balbir Kumar and Prof. U S Liza, the Convener of NSS and RRC, respectively.
The primary objective of this event was to enlighten students about the importance of safe blood transfusions and the significant role that blood donation plays in saving lives. It aimed to underscore the critical need for voluntary and unpaid blood donors.
Approximately 30 volunteers from RRC and NSS enthusiastically participated in the event and awareness campaign. They channeled their creativity to craft visually appealing posters and craft catchy slogans.
The posters and slogans created by students highlighted the stories of individuals who urgently require blood transfusions to sustain their lives. They also extended gratitude to the countless voluntary and unpaid blood donors worldwide for their contributions in saving millions of lives.
The event served as an eye-opener, thanks to the sincere efforts of the participating students and the coordination of the professors involved. Dr. Prem Singh, Dr. Varsha Kapoor, Dr. Tarseem Kumar, and Tanpreet Singh played pivotal roles in overseeing the event and evaluating the posters and slogans submitted by the students.
