Dewan Devi Playway HSS celebrates Janmashtami with zeal

JAMMU, Sept 6: Dewan Devi Playway/ Hr. Sec. School marked Janmashtami with boundless enthusiasm and fervor. The school premises were adorned with a beautifully decorated swing (Jhula) to symbolize Lord Krishna's divine presence. Students, dressed in Radha Krishna attire, enthusiastically participated in a variety of cultural programs that added charm to the celebration. Their vibrant performances showcased the spirit of this auspicious occasion. The event took an exciting turn with a tug of war competition held between the boys and girls of the Hr. Sec. Wing, fostering healthy competition and teamwork among the students. A highlight of the festivities was the "breaking of dahi handi" competition, where students showcased their dexterity and agility in breaking the curd-filled pot, reminiscent of Lord Krishna's playful antics. The Chairman of the school, Subhash Chander Suri, along with the Principal, addressed the students on this auspicious occasion. They imparted valuable advice, encouraging the students to fulfill their roles effectively in serving the nation and to aspire to become exemplary citizens of the country. Dewan Devi Playway/ Hr. Sec. School's celebration of Janmashtami not only adds a cultural touch to the school calendar but also imparts important life lessons of unity, sportsmanship, and devotion to the students.
