RAJOURI, Sept 6: Government PG College Rajouri has successfully concluded the Digital Week program, which featured a week-long series of activities held as part of Digital J&K Week. The program, which ran from August 31st to September 6th, aimed to raise awareness about digital initiatives by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
The week's activities were inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Shamim Ahmed Azad, Principal of the College, who emphasized the significance of such awareness programs focusing on online services like "Aap ka Mobile Hamara Daftar" (UMANG), e-UNNAT, and DigiLocker. He stressed that these initiatives contribute to greater transparency and accessibility in the delivery of services to citizens.
The competition revolved around the theme "Digital Initiatives by the Government of J&K." A total of 23 students participated, showcasing their creativity and highlighting various citizen-centric IT initiatives that promote transparency in governance and enhance the ease of living for citizens. Participants received e-certificates in recognition of their efforts.
An awareness program was conducted to educate participants about the various e-services available in Jammu and Kashmir, making them more accessible to the public.
The essay competition centered on the topic "Digital Initiatives in J&K." A total of 15 students participated and highlighted how information technology tools serve as a vital interface between the government and the public, aiding in the resolution of grievances and facilitating better communication.
The event was meticulously organized by Prof. Supriya Gupta, Prof. Rabia Koser, and Dr. Divya Mahajan, with the presence and support of Prof. Abdul Karim, Head of the Computer Science Department, and Dr. Mohd Jameel.
Government PG College Rajouri's successful conclusion of the Digital J&K Week 2023 reflects its commitment to promoting digital literacy, transparency, and citizen engagement in the region's governance processes.
