| Police SI call encourages youth but earlier applicants clueless | | |
SUMIT SHARMA Jammu, Jan 31: Thousands of aspiring youths who wish to drape Khaki and wear the belt of responsibility around their wastes, have taken the Police notification for recruitment of Sub Inspectors as gifted opportunity in way of their career but there is also a disappointed lot seeking some clarifications. In past few years the Jammu and Kashmir Police issued two appointment notices, at different occasions, for recruitment of Sub Inspectors, but their tests are yet to be conducted. Interestingly, when the second appointment notice, of this series, was issued it was clearly mentioned: “those who have applied earlier need not apply afresh”. Interestingly, while those who had applied in response to first and second notices are waiting for the call, here comes the third appointment notice which is completely silent about those who had applied earlier. on February 9, 2007 the Jammu and Kashmir Police issued notification for recruitment of Sub Inspectors but till date the recruitment process has not been done. Earlier also advertisement of Sub Inspectors issued on dated May 19, 2003 but the recruitment was not done. (copies of both available with Early Times) In the advertisement notice published on Feb 19, 2007 it was clearly mentioned that those who have already applied under endst. No Esst/Computer-03/2003-2573676 dated 19-5-2003 need not apply. Which also assist bulk of applicants. Applicants had been working hard to qualify the test, their expectations and hard labour dashed to ground when another notification of Sub Inspectors issued on 31 Jan 2009 in which it has been clearly mentioned the fresh posts which adds fuel on the fire burning in the hearts of applicants. As they do not fall in the age group prescribed by the authority. “ I had been working heard for the last two years hoping to become part of prestigious police force, but new notification has dashed all my hopes on the ground, where we should go to lodge our resentment. “Rajiv Sharma who was one of the applicants, said. Pertinent to mention here that earlier in the notifications issued the number of posts had not mentioned and so this notification, which reveals the modus operandi, again adopted by the authority. Police officers when contacted in this regard they remained silent as they have words to explain the joke they are playing with the unemployed.
