National Conference pays tribute to Sher-e-Kashmir on his 41st death anniversary

SRINAGAR, Sept 8: Dr. Farooq Abdullah, the President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and Member of Parliament from Srinagar, along with Vice President Omar Abdullah, led the party's members in offering floral tributes and Fatiha at the Mazar-e-Anwar of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah on the 41st anniversary of his death.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah paid glowing tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, emphasizing his struggles and sacrifices for the dignity of the region and its people. He called for emulating Sher-e-Kashmir's dedication to take the region out of divisive politics and political disempowerment.
Vice President Omar Abdullah highlighted Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah's legacy, which epitomizes Jammu and Kashmir's pluralistic ethos and inclusiveness. He emphasized that Sher-e-Kashmir nurtured and strengthened these characteristics and solidified bonds of love among different sections of society and regions of the state.
The commemorative event included Quran Khawani, Durood Azkar Majlis, and floral tributes. Similar functions were held at district party headquarters and Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan in Jammu, as well as at district headquarters across Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders stressed the importance of preserving Sher-e-Kashmir's call for inclusiveness and secularism in the face of divisive forces.
Among the leaders present at the event were Ali Muhammad Sagar, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Shammi Oberoi, Nasir Aslam Wani Sogami, Tanvir Sadiq, Hasnain Masoodi, Mushtaq Guroo, Mudassar Shahmiri, Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Abdul Rahim Rather, Mian Altaf Ahmed, Nazir Gurezi, Shameema Firdous, Irfan Shah, Javed Dar, Ali Mohammad Dar, Salman Ali Sagar, Ahsan Pardesi, Syed Tauqeer, Showkat Mir, Peer Afaq, Gh Mohiudin Mir, Dr. Sajjad Shafi, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, Altaf Ahmad Wani, Showkat Hussain, GR Naaz, Er. Sabiya Qadri, Sheikh Mohammad Rafi, Irshad Kar, Peer Mohammad Hussain, Neelofar Masood, Masrat Kar, and Sheikh Ovase, among others.
The leaders remembered Sher-e-Kashmir for his selfless leadership, political rights advocacy, and vision for the development and empowerment of the common man in Jammu and Kashmir.
