| 'Rehearsal', a new style comedy enthralls audience at Natrang's Sunday Theatre | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 1 'Rehearsal,' a new style comedy, enthralled audience at Natrang's weekly theatre series 'Sunday Theatre'. Written by Satyendra Shart, the play was directed by Natrang Director Balwant Thakur. This was the fourth new play in Sunday series which Natrang team has created in just a week's time. Elaborating on this, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that the actors in Natrang worked 24X7 to keep pace with the artistic requirements of the play productions and also to maintain the consistency of a regular weekly show which is running since last five years now. Natrang's 'Sunday Theatre' has brought Jammu in the National limelight and this place is now being recognized as one of the most theatre happening place in the country. Today's play 'Rehearsal' revolves round a theatre actress who does a futile real life rehearsal for the whole day and nothing comes in return. On the contrary she looses the regular in hand theatre and other small creative assignments. Malti- a theatre actress by profession, one fine morning receives a call that she is being considered for the lead role in a film to be produced by a blockbuster producer of the Bollywood and was further advised to wait at her place as the producer or his representative may call-on her for contract formalities. This news suddenly elevates her attitude and she starts behaving like a star. Maintaining pace with the high standards of hospitality she prepares a big treat for the visiting guest. The house gets a new décor and she tries multiple dresses and top beauty tips to create an electrifying effect before the film producer. With the help of her husband she rehearses the whole presentation. By the time she could give final touches to her preparation, many unwanted guests make their unwanted entry which spoils her mood and causes frustration. After the day long wait an unknown visitor makes her entry. Believing her as representative of the film producer, she is treated with variety of food items. The over excited hosts did not allow the visiting guest to introduce herself properly in the process to please her with variety of treats. While this high hospitality is going on, Malti's husband receives a message from the film producer regretting him for not making it to Malti as they have abandoned the project owing to the severe financial crises. This news upsets the whole festive mood and guest being treated with full honors is shown the exit un-ceremonially. The day long rehearsal to impress the film producer becomes a futile exercise loosing money and the assignments in hand. Divya Kohli in her debut lead role outshined with her sheer confidence. With proper training she can make her presence in the field. Rahul Singh played the role of a supportive husband with full professional approach. Tajasvi Sharma as Aagtunk with whom the whole drama happens demonstrated lot of maturity in her performance. Rohit Verma over the years is growing as a versatile actor. The play was equally supported by Vijay Kaul and Hemant Bholla. The lights were designed and executed creatively by Gaurav Jamwal and the show was coordinated by Mohit Sharma
