Drugs gateway to destruction: Swami Rajeshwaranand’s plea to youth
9/10/2023 10:04:52 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 10: The Founder of Jai Deva Mission, Swami Shri Rajeshwaranand Ji Maharaj, and President of Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir Unit, Manish Sahni, have expressed deep concern about the rising drug trade and the increasing number of youth falling into drug addiction in Jammu, the city of temples. They have urged the youth to steer clear of drugs and called for the implementation of prohibition in Jammu and Kashmir.
During a program held at the Shiv Sena state office in Jammu, Swami Rajeshwaranand Ji Maharaj and Manish Sahni jointly addressed the media and voiced their profound concerns about the escalating drug trafficking activities in the city of temples and the growing addiction among the youth.
Swami Rajeshwaranand conveyed a message to the youth, emphasizing that “Nasha Naash ka Dwara Hai” (Drugs are the gateway to destruction). He stressed that as drugs become more prevalent in their lives, they become increasingly ensnared in the clutches of destruction.
Manish Sahni pointed out the abundance of liquor shops in the city of temples, which he sees as the initial step toward addiction. Additionally, the trafficking of drugs such as charas, bhukki, and heroin is on the rise. He highlighted the peril faced by the future and lives of the youth who have fallen victim to drug addiction.
Sahni also drew attention to the growing attraction of youth toward Western culture and hookah, which he believes is eroding their cultural identity. Out of the total population of 13 million in Jammu and Kashmir, an estimated 10 lakhs people have succumbed to drug addiction. Saints, sages, holy men, and even the heavenly region of Jammu and Kashmir are rapidly being encroached upon by the drug trade, he added. Swami Rajeshwaranand Ji Maharaj and Manish Sahni appealed to the youth to distance themselves from drugs and called upon the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, to enforce strict drug prohibition in Jammu and Kashmir and take stern action against those involved in drug trafficking. Their plea underscores the urgent need to address the alarming rise of drug-related issues among the youth in the region.
