Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 10: A senior leader of the Apni Party has filed a complaint seeking FIR allegedly against some rivals from another political party ahead of the upcoming Urban Local body polls.
The Apni Party leader has filed a complaint with some social media screenshots against the alleged opponents ahead of the polls where both the groups will be contesting.
Sources said one of the screenshots bears name of a rival group of leaders from another party.
“Have sought the registration of an FIR against one *** (name with held) under Sections 107, 153, 153A, 295A and 507 of the IPC for this unfortunate and desperate attempt to disrupt harmony,” the Apni Party politician said.
The sources said the complainant in attachments has placed the screenshots which the said politician has managed to access.
The sources said one of the alleged evidence is from the WhatsApp group of the rival political party.
Interestingly the said leader was previously associated with the same group. “Till a few years ago he belonged to the same group and he subsequently changed colors,” said the sources.
Official sources, however, said the chances of police filing registering an FIR were bleak as the complainant has been “habitual of making such complaints quite often.”
“He has been making such complaints quite often,” said an observer.
The sources said the rival group has not taken the complaint seriously.
“Nobody is going to take the complaint seriously as it has no substance and otherwise also this man wants FIRs even against BJP leaders at times,” said the observer.
The said politician looks ahead to contest the ULB polls while the cadres from the rival party are active in the same vote bank.
“Both the groups have vote bank stakes in the area,” said the observer.
Despite repeated attempts the two groups couldn’t be contacted for comments.
