One-day awareness camp organized at NCC Nagrota

JAMMU, Sept 11: A one-day awareness program was conducted at the NCC camp in Nagrota, organized by Civil Defence, Jammu, under the supervision of Dy.SP, Anita Pawar, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu. The program aimed to provide essential knowledge about First Aid, CPR, choking, firefighting, and specifically addressed the issue of drug addiction among NCC students. Civil Defence experts led the awareness session and conducted live demonstrations on these topics.
The primary objective of this awareness program was to educate students on preventive measures during natural or man-made disasters. It aimed to empower NCC cadets with knowledge and skills that could prove crucial during emergency situations.
The program took place within the premises of the NCC Camp Nagrota and saw the participation of approximately 500 NCC cadets. Col. R.S Jasrotia, Camp Commander of NCC Nagrota, commended the efforts of the Civil Defence organization and expressed gratitude to the Civil Defence team for organizing this important awareness-cum-demonstration program.
The event was graced by the presence of Paramjit Kumar, Chief Warden CD Jammu, R. Vijay Magotra, Dy. Chief Warden CD Jammu, Ram Dayal Saini, S.I Incharge Trainings Civil Defence, and other staff members from the NCC Camp Nagrota.
Such awareness programs are instrumental in equipping the youth with essential life skills and knowledge, ensuring their preparedness to respond effectively in times of emergencies or disasters. The collaboration between Civil Defence and NCC serves as a valuable step toward creating a more informed and resilient community.
