Dr Banarsi of KVK, conferred 'Best Scientist Award'

REASI, Sept 11: Dr.Banarsi Lal, Sr. Scientist & Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) has been awarded with the prestigious 'Best Scientist Award' during the 11th Academic Achievement Awards(AAA)-2023 ceremony organised yesterday at Mumbai, India by the Education Expo TV (EET CRS).
The Academic Achievement Awards award has been conferred to the scientist in recognisation of his meritorious achievements and remarkable contributions in the field of agriculture. Academic Achievement Awards research panel considered Dr.Banarsi for the prestigious Best Scientist Award on the basis of his research papers in reputed journals as first author, books as first author, book chapters as first author, popular and research articles as first author, success stories as first author, case studies as first author, invited talks, consultancy services provided, SHGs/Farmers Clubs managed, research and innovative extension technologies devised and disseminated, promotion of organic and natural farming, various projects handled etc. for the welfare of the farming community.
Dr.Banarsi hails from Kathua district of J&K and has been working at KVK, Reasi for more than 16 years and upgrading the farming community with the innovative and latest agricultural technologies. He has been the Principal Investigator and Co- Principal Investigator of many projects undergoing in the distt.
He has developed an exponential communication model to assess the communication behavior of the farmers and has also worked extensively on entertainment farm education, behavioral and attitudinal research. Dr.Banarsi has written number of publications as quality research papers in national and international journals, books and book chapters, popular and research articles, success stories/case studies etc.
He is also recipient of many zonal, national and international level awards. Dr.Banarsi emphasises on the innovations at the farmers' field so as to enhance the income and employment especially among the rural youths of the rural areas. The scientist is promoting the organic and natural farming in the area so that safe and healthy food can be produced. Presently he is the member of many esteem Professional Societies.
