| Pok’s DPs vow agitation | | | Early Times Report

A meeting of Sharnarthi action committee was held at Lower Gadigarh under the Chairmanship R K Raina to impress upon both central and state govt. to resolve (full and final settlement) the claims of displaced person of POK outstanding for last 60 year. It was re-iterated in the meeting that every past govt. have made the mockery of the pathetic plight of the displaced persons who were forced to leave their home and hearth, and even left their kins and kiths, either burnt alive or butchered by the Pakistan sponsored raiders. Raina further alleged that a lot of money in the form of packages was claimed by the previous state govts from union of India. But nothing has been done to rehabilitate the poor victims of Pak sponsored atrocities during the partition of the country. Besides, it was also re-iterated in the meeting that a large scale protest demonstration and public meeting is being held in the near future to high light the genuine demands of the refugees of 1947, each & every refugee from every corner the state will be called for to cause him presence in support of the demonstration. Gradually the demonstrations and the public meeting will be shaped in the form of continuous agitation unless until the demands are settled once for all.
Others who spoke in the meeting were Kulwant Singh, Joint Director Education (retd.), Raj Kumar General Secretary and P N Raina Secretary.
