Early Times Report
RAMNAGAR, Sept 12: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Udhampur, embarked on a remarkable journey by organizing a Kalash Yatra as part of the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign. Under the esteemed patronship of Dr. Bhavnaish Chand, Principal of GDC Ramnagar, the NSS unit orchestrated this event to strengthen the bond between the community and the environment.
The vibrant rally commenced at Government Degree College Ramnagar and wound its way through the bustling local market of village Thaplal. With fervor and enthusiasm, participants raised spirited slogans of 'Jai Hind' and melodiously sang patriotic songs, igniting a sense of pride and unity among all.
A unique aspect of this event was the collection of mitti (earth) from every household in the village. NSS volunteers carried an Amrit Kalash, symbolizing the sacredness of the earth, and collected mitti as a symbolic gesture of connecting with their motherland. During this process, NSS volunteers also administered the Panch Pran Pledge, encouraging people to join them in taking the pledge for the welfare of the environment and the nation.
