Infighting in BJP likely to intensify after show-cause notice of Sofi Yosuf

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 12: Infighting in BJP is likely to be intensified after serving of show cause notice to its veteran leader Sofi Yosuf because some senior leaders are trying to shield the former Member of the Legislative Council (MLC). Sofi Yosuf was at forefront in raising the banner of revolt against the party leadership for ignoring senior and he is leader of the group which is trying to mount pressure on the leadership.
Insiders in the BJP said that some senior leaders are still trying to protect Sofi Yosuf despite serving show cause notice to him.
Sources said that it is all due to support of some senior leaders that Sofi Yosuf is presenting a brave face despite getting a show cause notice.
“In the show cause notice Sofi Yosuf was asked not to talk to the media but he is openly speaking to media persons which is an open challenge to the Disciplinary Committee of the party”, a source said.
Sources said that party leadership wanted to take strict action against those who had raised a banner of revolt on August 11 but it was all due to the pressure of some leaders that the party succumbed before the rebels at the time and removed three leaders from their positions.
As reported earlier, BJP on Monday issued a show cause notice to the veteran leader and ex-MLC Sofi Yosuf.
Sofi Yosuf was leading the group of party leaders who raised a banner of revolt on August 11 prompting the party to sack three leaders from their positions on the very next day.
Exactly a month after the revolt by a group of senior leaders, BJP on Monday issued a show-cause notice to the party’s vice-president and former legislator Sufi Yosuf for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities.
