Department of Physical Education & Sports organizes rally promoting truth and non-violence

JAMMU, Sept 13: In a collaborative effort, the Department of Physical Education & Sports, in partnership with the Department of Political Science, organized a rally aimed at promoting truth and non-violence under the esteemed guidance of the college principal, Dr. Meeru Abrol.
This rally, held as part of the Gandhi Jayanti Celebration, was dedicated to the theme of truth and non-violence. It marked a significant step towards fostering transparency, integrity, ethics, and accountability within society. Reflecting the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, the rally sought to promote peace and harmony through love, non-violence, truthfulness, friendliness, compromise, and cooperation.
Participants in the rally carried placards adorned with slogans such as "Non-Violence is the Summit of Bravery," "Non-Violence is the First Article of my Faith," and "Stop Violence and Have Faith in Peace." Approximately 80 students, alongside staff members, actively engaged in this initiative, demonstrating their dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity and commitment in their respective roles.
The primary objective of the rally was to initiate a dialogue with the youth, emphasizing their power and responsibility to reshape the culture of the nation. The goal is to create a better India characterized by unity, devoid of hatred, violence, and intolerance.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Meeru Abrol, the college principal, underscored the importance of truth and non-violence in society. She emphasized that non-violence obstructs progress and exacerbates inequality. Dr. Abrol urged everyone to recommit themselves to eradicating corruption at all levels and collectively work towards a more progressive society.
The program was meticulously organized by Dr. Rekha Devi, who ensured its seamless execution. The enthusiastic participation of students reflected their dedication to the cause.
The Department of Physical Education & Sports, in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, has taken a meaningful stride towards promoting the principles of truth and non-violence, echoing the timeless wisdom of Mahatma Gandhi and instilling these values in the hearts of the youth for a brighter and more harmonious future.
