GDC Ramgarh Commemorates Gandhi Jayanti 2023 with "Truth and Non-Violence" Activities

Early Times Report
RAMGARH, Sept 13: Government Degree College Ramgarh (GDC Ramgarh) is actively honoring the spirit of Gandhi Jayanti 2023 through a series of engaging activities centered around the theme of "Truth and Non-Violence." These initiatives are part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating the 75th year of India's independence. The college, under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal, is committed to perpetuating Mahatma Gandhi's profound legacy.
On September 13, 2023, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit 'Prabha' of GDC Ramgarh organized a spirited rally within the college premises and its surrounding areas, focusing on the timeless values of 'Truth' and 'Non-Violence.'
Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Convener of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), delivered an enlightening address to the enthusiastic student participants. She emphasized the profound significance of 'Truth' and 'Non-Violence' in Mahatma Gandhi's life and their continued relevance in the modern world.
Dr. Shamsher Lal, the Programme Officer, highlighted that the mention of Mahatma Gandhi immediately invokes two essential concepts - 'truth' and 'non-violence.' Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, fervently upheld these ideals as he led India in its battle for freedom against British colonial rule. Even today, his principles resonate strongly in the 21st century.
Mahatma Gandhi, born on October 2, 1869, advocated 'truth' not only as relative truthfulness in words and actions but also as the absolute truth, the ultimate reality. He regarded 'non-violence' as the epitome of selflessness and a path to realizing one's true self. For Gandhi, it meant behaving in a manner that assures the safety and well-being of all.
The rally witnessed the enthusiastic participation of numerous students who carried placards bearing inspiring quotes and messages attributed to Mahatma Gandhi.
The college's esteemed faculty members also actively joined the rally, standing in solidarity with the enduring principles of 'Truth' and 'Non-Violence' promoted by the Father of the Nation.
GDC Ramgarh's dedication to honoring Mahatma Gandhi's legacy through these activities not only educates the youth but also fosters a deep appreciation for the values of 'Truth' and 'Non-Violence,' which continue to guide and inspire generations in the pursuit of a just and harmonious world.
