22 Kgs of poppy straw recovered by Police Post Nehru Market Jammu, One peddler arrested

Jammu, Sept 13: Continuing it’s drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 22 Kgs of poppy straw from one accused person in the jurisdiction of PP Nehru Market.
A police team of PP Nehru Market led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO PS Gandhi Nagar Inspr Pankaj Sharma and I/C PP Nehru Market SI now Inspr Rohit Gandhi while on patrolling duty rounded up a suspected person who was coming on a vehicle bearing Registration No. JK02AP 5697. During search 22 Kgs of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of accused later identified as Raj Kumar S/O Om Parkash and Pinda Kumar S/O Bittu Kumar, both residents of R S Pura. In this regard, Case FIR No. 221/2023 u/s 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act got registered at PS Janipur and accused got arrested.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.
