Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 14: The Department of Hindi at Government Degree College Dharmari came alive with the vibrant celebration of Hindi Diwas on September 14, 2023. The event, graced by Principal Dr. Preetpal Kour and orchestrated by Miss Samiti Sharma, a dedicated faculty member, witnessed an outpouring of enthusiasm and reverence for the Hindi language.
Students from the Hindi department enthralled the audience with their recitations of famous Hindi poems and literature, offering a glimpse into the rich heritage and cultural diversity embedded in the Hindi language. Their performances celebrated the essence of Hindi literature.
A special session on Hindi Shabdavali was conducted by Professor Baldev Singh, aimed at popularizing common Hindi expressions and words for daily usage. This educational initiative aimed to empower individuals with essential linguistic skills and foster a deeper connection with the language.
In a heartwarming gesture of inclusivity, a Hindi name writing exercise was organized, where non-Hindi-speaking students were taught to write their names in Hindi. This activity promoted cross-cultural understanding and showcased the language's unifying power.
Principal Dr. Preetpal Kour expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, faculty members, and students for making this event unforgettable. She emphasized the importance of celebrating the beauty and diversity of the Hindi language, echoing the constitutional vision of Hindi as a common language that unifies the country's composite heritage. The success of the Hindi Diwas celebration was made possible through the coordinated efforts of Prof. Anoj Kumar, Dr. Mohd Akhtar, and Miss Tinu Bala, who worked tirelessly to ensure the event's smooth execution. The celebration of Hindi Diwas at GDC Dharmari was a testament to the enduring legacy and significance of the Hindi language in India. It served as a reminder of the linguistic tapestry that binds the nation's diverse cultures together, embodying the spirit of unity in diversity.
