Early Times Report
RAMGARH, Sept 14: Government Degree College Ramgarh took a significant step in empowering its students by organizing an awareness programme on career counseling. The event, conducted by the Career Counseling Cell and IQAC in collaboration with 'Wings- Ek Udaan' institute, was held under the banners of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' and 'India's Presidency in the G20'. Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the esteemed Principal of the college, provided invaluable guidance and supervision throughout the event.
Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Convener of IQAC, opened the event by explaining the importance of career counseling. She emphasized that career counseling is a vital process that assists individuals in identifying and exploring career options, making informed decisions about their future, and developing strategies to achieve their goals. Career counseling is particularly beneficial for young individuals who are embarking on their careers, helping them navigate the array of available choices effectively. The team from 'Wings- Ek Udaan' Institute, comprised of Kanav Sharma, Abhishek Pathania, and Sahil Sharma, shed light on the challenges that recent graduates often face. They explained that post-graduation, many individuals feel lost and uncertain about their career paths. Career counseling, they stressed, plays a pivotal role in providing direction for immediate satisfaction and long-term professional success. Kanav Sharma highlighted the hurdles faced by students from remote and underserved areas when preparing for competitive examinations. These challenges include financial constraints, emotional struggles, and the logistical difficulties of travel. To bridge this gap and cater to the aspirations of rural students, Wings-Ek Udaan Institute announced its plans to establish a branch in Vijaypur. The event saw active participation from a large number of college students. Distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Shamsher Lal (NSS PO), Prof. Risha Kumari, Dr. Ekta Rani, Dr. Shivali Choudhary, Dr. Paramjeet Kour, Sunil Kumar, Priya Sharma, Arpana Devi, and Dr. Rahul Kundal, graced the occasion with their presence and support.
The Career Counseling Awareness Programme at GDC Ramgarh showcased the college's commitment to guiding its students towards successful and fulfilling career paths. It was a platform for students to gain valuable insights and make informed decisions about their future endeavors, ultimately contributing to their personal and professional growth.
