SUNDERBANI, Sept 14: In a tragic incident that occurred during the night of September 13/14, a person identified as Yashpal, who also serves as the Sarpanch of Panchayat Halka Patrara, allegedly fired upon his wife, causing serious injuries. The victim, identified as Neelam Devi, aged 46, was rushed to SDH Sunderbani by her family members and later referred to GMC Jammu for further treatment.
Upon receiving the information, a case was registered under FIR No 63/2023, invoking sections 307/323 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 30 of the Indian Arms Act. The police team from PS Sunderbani swiftly responded to the incident, collecting relevant evidence and apprehending the accused, Sarpanch Yashpal, from Patrara. The weapon used in the offense was also recovered and seized.
Tragically, Neelam Devi, the wife of the accused, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at GMC Jammu. |
