Meri Mati Mera Desh Phase 2 being spearheaded by NYKS in UTs of J&K, Ladakh

JAMMU, Sept 14: NYKS J&K Ladakh under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India organised various programs under the second phase of Meri Mati Mera Desh in the twin UTs of J&K and Ladakh. The National event was launched in all the districts of the UTs of J&K and Ladakh by NYKS. It is pertinent to mention that as part of the second phase of Meri Mati Mera Desh, Amrit Kalash yatras are to be organised in all the villages of the nation from 1st to 30th of September, 2023 in which soil or rice is to be collected in an Amrit Kalash.
Various programs were organised in Jammu Division. In Doda district, Soil collection drive as part of Kalash Yatra was held in block Changa in which NYVs Mumtaza Begum, Mehjoor Ahmed, Shoket Ali, Anganwadi workers Loharmohalla and ward members played an important role. Similar program was also held in Block Bhaderwah. In Jammu, Kalash yatra was organised in Jajjar Kotli, graced by Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma. In a program at panchayat Kathar of Arnia Bock, Sarpanch Anu Radha, Panches Raj Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Youth Leader Vipan Kumar, ExSarpanch Kuldeep Raj and other youth club members graced the event. In Kathua district, soil collection drive was held at Panchayats Stoo, Kholi Talai, Dharkhor. Programs were also held in Village Airwan and Athyalta, Block Mahanpur with participation of Sushma Devi Chairperson BDC, Sarpanches, Medical personnel, Gramsewaks, NYVs and Youth Club members etc. A Program was led by Sh Narayan Dutt, National Youth Awardee and member DDC. Similar programs were also organised in Bocks Siot and Kalakote of Rajouri by NYVs Ekta Thakur, Akshay Khajuria.
Kashmir Division also witnessed number of programs under second phase of Meri Maati Mera Desh. In various block of Pulwama district, Natioal Youth Volunteers and Youth Club Members held door to door collection of soil as part of Kalash Yatra under the second phase of Meri Mati Mera Desh.
Soil Collection drives under Meri Maati Mera Desh were also held in Ladakh division. In Leh district, Kalash Yatras were taken out in Block Numa in presence of NYVs, Youth Club members and PRI members. In Kargil, a Soil Collection drive was held in Block Pashkum by Youth Volunteers and Youth Club members of NYK Kargil.
It is pertinent to mention that the Block level Amrit Kalash Yatras shall be held from 1st to 13th of October 2023 in which the soil or rice collected at village is to be brought to an identified location which will then be poured into a larger Kalash at the Block Level. During this event, cultural programs shall also be held and Veernaris and Bravehearts shall be honoured and felicitated. From 22nd to 27th October 2023, State level Kalash Yatras shall be held in which the Kalash collected at Block levels shall be gathered at the State Capital for onward travel to National Capital by Volunteers through Special Trains from 28th to 30th October 2023.
From 28th to 30th October 2023, traditionally dressed Volunteers from all the States will march on Kartavyapath New Delhi along with Amrit Kalash. This soil from all Villages and Blocks of the Nation will then be used to create Amrit Vatika in the memory of bravehearts. A memorial dedicated to the memory of the people who sacrificed their lives for the country will be established near the Kartavya Path.
