DIG conducted review meeting of Traffic Range Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 14: DIG Traffic Range Jammu Shri Shridhar Patil IPS conducted review meeting of Range Traffic police Jammu on 14.09.2023 which was attended by Sh. Rohit Baskotra, SSP Traffic NHW Ramban (virtually), Vinay Kumar SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, Fiesel Qureshi SSP Traffic City Jammu and all Dy.SsP of Traffic Range Jammu. At the outset DIG Traffic Range Jammu congratulated the Traffic police officers for their outstanding performance on the successful completion of Shri Amarnath Ji, Shri Budda Amarnath Ji and Machail Mata yatras despite bad weather conditions. DIG Traffic also held a review of enforcement work of the traffic police officers and rewarded the police officers whose performance in the enforcement work remained outstanding during the month of August in respect of DTIs and Sector Officers of Traffic Range Jammu. DIG Traffic Jammu stressed to lay special focus on the 13 major traffic violations which were also earlier highlighted in the higher-level meeting viz. over-speeding/dangerous driving, non-wearing of crash helmet, use of mobile phones while driving, driving under the influence of liquor, drive under age, wrong parking, red light jumping, overloading goods carrier, overloading of passenger, triple riding, HSRP etc. DIG Traffic also stressed upon to lay focus on identification and rectification of black spots and congestion points in all the districts of range Jammu in consultation with stakeholders. DIG Traffic also advised SSsP traffic of traffic range Jammu to constitute Accident Response Teams (ARTs) in their respective areas involving members of Panchayati raj committees, members of local bodies, volunteers and other stakeholders for each black spot which is prone to accidents to initiate and follow the process of rectification of black spots to prevent accidents and to provide immediate response in case of accidents for the safety of precious lives. Regarding awareness, DIG Traffic said that the awareness programmes should be of targeted based and urged to specifically focus on youth. He told the SSsP traffic to arrange special classes by Dy.SsP Traffic and DTIs in the colleges/higher secondary schools/secondary schools, so that youth get aware of the necessity of obeying traffic laws and road discipline. |
