DC Doda distributes Nikshay Poshan baskets among adopted TB Patients

DODA, Sept 14: Nikshay Poshan Yojna ia an incentive scheme under National Health Mission (NHM) by Central TB Division of MoHFW for Tuberculosis (TB) patients who are under treatment and have registered / notified themselves on the NIKSHAY portal. The incentives can be distributed in cash (only via DBT preferably through Aadhaar enabled bank accounts) or in kind.
From the very beginning of assuming the Charge, Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan is proactive in providing the best health care to the people of the district and in elimination of deadly diseases like Tuberculosis from the district. He frequently reviews the development and achievements under NTEP and sets new targets to curb and eliminate the TB from this district. Mahajan has geared all his manpower to eliminate the TB from the district by the end of year 2023.
Recently, the Deputy Commissioner distributed 5 Nikshay Poshan baskets among his adopted TB patients as Nikshay Mitra in the district. Nikshay Mitra (Volunteer) provides nutritional baskets to TB patients (up-to Rs 500/) per month per patient up to completion of the treatment. He started Poshan baskets of these new patients after completing nutritional care of the old 5 adopted patients for 6 months.
DC Doda has been highly appreciated by the NHM J&K for his tireless efforts in bringing down the infection rate and extending all kinds of support to the health team in eradicating the disease from the district.
He has also been served a certificate of appreciation by the Central TB Division of MoHFW Government of Bharat for his exemplary support and guidance in combating the disease.
