JAMMU, Sept 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory has no dearth of talent but there is need for identifying and providing best available coaching to them so that they find their rightful place in the national and international events.
This was stated by Tarun Uppal, Social Activist and Chairperson Nirbhay Bharat Foundation while felicitating young players of J&K UT who won medals in 10th Lagori National Championship in Rewari, Haryana
The Jammu Kashmir Lagori team has made an unforgettable mark in the sports world by representing their state for the first time at the 10th Lagori National Championship held in Rewari, Haryana. Despite being newcomers to the national stage, the team displayed
exceptional talent and received an overwhelming response from both spectators and fellow participants, setting the stage for their potential participation in the upcoming national games in Goa. The boys’ team included Abhi Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Aman Deep, Rijwal, Gritish, Vansh, Sunil Kumar, Hanu Pawan, while the girls’ team was represented by Tanmeet Kour, Kalpana, Samriti Sharma, Samiksha Sharma, Gungun, Navya, Sapna, and others. Together, they exhibited exemplary sportsmanship and determination under the expert guidance of Mr. Pawan Singh.
Tarun Uppal said Jammu has traversed a long way over the years with its youth making big mark in every sphere of activity-art, sports, academics and culture. He said the victory of these youth is yet another feather in the saga of successes Jammu is credited with.
Tarun Uppal complemented the Trust namely INARA for providing training and all logistic support in brining laurels to the Union Territory.
He extended best wishes to all the players and hoped that they will give their best in the upcoming tournaments and will become role model for others.
He also suggested J&K youth as well as players to work hard in whatever sport they have taken as there is no substitute to hard work
