9/15/2023 9:47:40 PM
Early Times Report
KHOUR, Sept 15: In celebration of Gandhi Jayanti from September 12, 2023, to October 2, 2023, the Department of Sociology at Government Degree College (GDC) Khour organized an insightful symposium focused on Mahatma Gandhi's enduring ideology of "Truth and Non-Violence."
Mahatma Gandhi, renowned as the Father of the Nation in India, was not only a distinguished leader but also a visionary whose principles of Truth (Satya) and Non-Violence (Ahimsa) have left an indelible mark on the world. His teachings continue to resonate with people from diverse backgrounds, serving as a wellspring of inspiration for positive change on a global scale.
The symposium served as a platform to delve deep into these foundational principles and explore their contemporary relevance. Fifteen students from the third and fifth semesters took the stage to present their insights on the theme "Truth and Non-Violence." This event attracted approximately 60 students, providing them with a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, gain profound insights, and reflect on the enduring impact of Gandhi's ideology in today's rapidly evolving world.
The symposium was expertly organized by the Department of Sociology, with Dr. Deepti Gupta, Head of the Department of Sociology, and Mr. Abhinandan as the coordinators. Their efforts were carried out under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) T.K Sharma, the esteemed Principal of GDC Khour.
This initiative exemplifies the institution's commitment to preserving and promoting the profound principles of Mahatma Gandhi. By encouraging thoughtful discussions and introspection on Truth and Non-Violence, GDC Khour ensures that the legacy of this great leader continues to guide and inspire the youth, fostering positive change and peaceful coexistence in our contemporary world.
