Stephens Group of Institutions hosts insightful workshop

JAMMU, Sept 15: Stephens Group of Institutions recently hosted a captivating and informative workshop on the topic "Trends and Issues in Nursing," led by the diligent students of M.Sc.(N) 2nd year from Stephens College of Nursing. The workshop was conducted under the able guidance of Mrs. Joyce B. Singh, Assistant Professor at Stephens College of Nursing, who served as the Organizing Chairperson of the workshop.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Sumaya Sidiqi, Principal of Govt. College of Nursing, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, as the chief guest, and Poonam Paul, Vice Principal of Govt. College of Nursing, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, as the guest of honour.
Sumaiya emphasized the significant changes occurring in the field of nursing, underlining the urgent need for continuous updates due to the evolving nature of this noble profession. She lauded the efforts of the M.Sc.(N) 2nd-year students for organizing a workshop on such a pertinent topic.
Prof. Poonam Paul congratulated the students for their initiative in organizing a workshop on a sensitized topic that addresses a pressing need in the field of nursing. She motivated the students to actively promote the nursing profession.
Manoj Kotru, the Administrator, extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and guest of honour. He commended the students for their dedicated efforts in conducting an instructive and remarkable workshop.
The workshop commenced with a melodious welcome song performed by the M.Sc.(N) 2nd-year students, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting. Joyce B. Singh introduced the esteemed chief guest and guest of honour.
The informative sessions began with Rasmeet Kour introducing the topic of "Introduction to Trends and Issues in Nursing" during Session-I. Subsequent discussions included "Trends in Nursing Services" by Priya Sharma, and "Trends in Nursing Education and Administration, and Factors Influencing Current Trends in Nursing" by Khusboo and Gulseerat.
In Session-II, Gulseerat elaborated on factors affecting current trends in nursing, while Arti concluded the session with insights into "Issues in Nursing Practice & Nursing Education and Administration." Post-tests and feedback sessions were efficiently conducted by Rasmeet and Priya. The workshop concluded with a valedictory session and the distribution of certificates.
All the speakers received tokens of appreciation (Mementos), and participants were awarded certificates of participation. The vote of thanks was delivered by Sakshi Anthal of M.Sc.(N) 2nd year, expressing gratitude to all involved.
The workshop proved to be a valuable opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge about the dynamic field of nursing, gaining deeper insights into the prevailing trends and critical issues.
