Sikh organizations hold meeting, pay tribute to martyred officers

JAMMU, Sept 15: In an emergency meeting of Various Sikh Organizations in Jammu and Kashmir, members unanimously gathered under the Chairmanship of S. Mohinder Singh, Chief Organizer of Bhai Kanahiya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K and Ex-member of DGPC Jammu.
During the meeting, heartfelt tributes were paid to the martyrs, including Colonel Manpreet Singh of 19 Rashtriya Rifles, Major Ashish Dhanchok, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy SP) Humayun Bhatt of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The participants expressed their deep condolences and resolved to support the bereaved family members.
The attendees acknowledged and saluted the great sacrifices made by these brave officers who laid down their lives for the nation.
Concerns were raised during the meeting about the prevailing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, challenging the claims of normalcy made by both the central and Jammu and Kashmir governments. The participants stressed the need for the government to take the security and protection of civilians seriously, especially considering the numerous civilian casualties caused by militants. In a resolution passed during the meeting, it was demanded from the central government that an ex-gratia amount of rupees two crore be sanctioned, along with government jobs, for the next of kin of the martyrs.
