Udhampur DC flags off Gandhi Jayanti Shanti Yatra in Tikri

UDHAMPUR, Sept 15: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, in the presence of Chief Education Officer, Geetu Bangotra, flagged off Gandhi Jayanti Shanti Yatra from Government Higher Secondary School Tikri, here today.
In a symbolic tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, students from Higher Secondary School Tikri donned attire resembling Gandhi ji and led the rally, passionately chanting slogans in praise of Father of Nation. The "Shanti Chin," a symbol of peace received from District Reasi, was passed from one school to another along the route, emphasizing the core values of Truth, Peace, Non-Violence, and Cleanliness.
The Yatra commenced from HSS Tikri, moving energetically to HSS Garhi, and finally culminating at HSS Boys Udhampur, traversing through MS Ward No. 10 and Girls High School Udhampur en route. The Principal of HSS Boys Udhampur warmly received the Yatra, and a brief cultural program paying tribute to Gandhi ji was performed at the school.
