Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 16: Jammu's ASCOMS & Hospital marked World Patient Safety Day with a week-long celebration dedicated to promoting patient safety. The Quality and Safety Week, organized by the Department of Hospital Administration, was held under the able guidance of Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal, Medical Superintendent, ASCOMS & Hospital, and Dr. Deepika Mahajan, Deputy Medical Superintendent & Organizing Secretary. The week saw a range of activities revolving around the theme of "Patient Safety." The event witnessed several engaging activities, including poster exhibitions, rangoli competitions, and slogan contests, all focused on raising awareness about patient safety. Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director (Coordination) of New Govt. Medical Colleges, Nursing, and Paramedical Colleges in Jammu & Kashmir, and President of the Academy of Hospital Administration India, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Also in attendance were Mr. Manik Batra, Trustee of ASCOMS, and Dr. K.S. Mehta, Director Principal of ASCOMS & Hospital, along with esteemed faculty members and students from various medical and healthcare disciplines. In his welcoming address, Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal emphasized the paramount importance of patient safety. Dr. Deepika Mahajan, in her presentation, provided an overview of the activities conducted throughout the Quality and Safety Week. The chief guest, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, delivered a comprehensive guest lecture on patient safety, highlighting key points and insights during his presentation. He commended the Department of Hospital Administration for its efforts in organizing the event. Dr. K.S. Mehta, Director Principal, extended his congratulations to the Organizing Committee for the successful execution of the Quality & Safety Week on the occasion of World Patient Safety Day 2023. A cleanliness drive was an integral part of the week's activities, culminating on September 15, 2023, with the Department of Pediatrics securing the top position. Additionally, students from the Nursing College performed a skit on Patient Safety, guided by Prof. (Dr.) Indra Moza, Principal of ASCCONE. Dignitaries felicitated the participants and winners, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Meraj Din Chauhan, who expressed gratitude to the ASCOMS Management for their unwavering support and invaluable contributions to the event's success.
