After Sofi Yousuf more BJP rebels likely to face action

Jammu, Sept 16: Five days passed but senior BJP leader and former MLC Sofi Yousuf has yet not replied to the show cause notice served to him by the Disciplinary Committee of the party.
Highly placed sources said that after Sofi Yousuf BJP leadership is likely to take against some more leaders who had raised a banner of revolt.
"Notwithstanding efforts of some leaders to protect the rebels, party leadership has taken very serious note of August 11 development when many senior leaders of the party had indirectly threatened the leadership by threatening mass resignations", sources said and added that as a first step the party has served notice to Sofi Yousuf to give a message to rebels.
"BJP leadership is very much aware that Sofi Yousuf will give reply only after discussing all aspects with all rebels", sources said and that some senior leaders, who have raised a banner of revolt are not ready to allow new entrants to occupy important positions in the party.
Sources said that BJP leadership has realised that a coterie within the party is not allowing new entrants to work in the party.
The party leadership, sources said, has termed August 11 episode as an glaring example of indiscipline and black mail tactics.
As reported earlier the BJP on Monday issued a show cause notice to the veteran leader and ex-MLA Sofi Yosuf.
The party’s face in Kashmir Valley, Sofi Yosuf was leading the group of party leaders who raised a banner of revolt on August 11 prompting the party to sack three leaders from their positions on the very next day.
The show-cause notice was isued by the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee Sunil Sethi.
“Despite being the senior leader of the party and now occupying a very senior position, it has come to the notice of the Disciplinary Committee of Jammu Kashmir Bhartiya Janata Party, unfortunately, that you are indulging in anti-party activities and showing marked indiscipline in your political dealings”, the show cause notice reads.
“You have tried to create dissent in the party cadre with few more persons and now your audio recording clip has surfaced whose contents depict that you have no regard for party discipline and high principles which are the basis of the political ideology of the party. Audio clips are being sent to you with this”, the notice further mentioned.
In the show cause, Sofi Yosuf was directed to submit his reply of misconduct and indiscipline to the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee within seven days. He was also directed not to interact with the media directly or indirectly on any issue.
