| JKSLA organizing strength lifting championship | | |

A three day national strength lifting championship organized by the J&K strength lifting association (JKSLA) will be held from February 25 to 28 at M.A.M indoor stadium here.
This was disclosed at a press conference by the patron of association and MLC, R.S. Chib here today. He said it is for the first time that a state level championship is being held. He said boys and girls associated with the game from J&K state have participated in national and international level championship and at present more than 1000 youth of the state are associated with J&K unit of the game.
Chib said, one Monika Mehra of district Kathua secured silver medal an international level held at Calcutta. The other players who won gold, silver and bronze are Vijay Singh Chib, Shashi Pal, Vipal Kohli and Sushil Kumar.
President of the association Vicky Mahajan on the occasion said, that nearly 400 players from various part of the country are participating in the event.
