Chairperson DDC Kishtwar chairs Quarterly General Council meeting

KISHTWAR, Sept 18: Chairperson District Development Council, Kishtwar, Pooja Thakur today chaired the quarterly General Council Meeting here in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by the DDC Vice Chairperson, Saima Parveen Lone; Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav; CEO General Council/ADDC, Sham Lal; ACR, Varunjeet Singh Charak; Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; DPO, Sunil Bhutyal all BDC Chairpersons, DDC Councilors, besides district and sectoral officers.
Before the meeting started, a 2-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to local Martyr Rifleman Ravi Kumar and others who recently sacrificed their life for the nation, and the father-in-law of the DCC Chairperson, who passed away last month.
At the outset, the CEO General Council, Sham Lal welcomed the members of the general council and apprised them about the objectives of the meeting.
The chairperson Pooja Thakur reviewed the sector wise physical and financial status of the works taken up under District Capex, Area Development Plan & DDC, BDC and PRIs plan for the FY 2023-24.
During the meeting, the council was apprised about the action taken report (ATR) of the grievances raised in the previous general council meeting. The officers of the concerned departments explained the progress on the grievances pertaining to their departments.
The majority of the grievances have been redressed whereas redressal on the rest of the grievances is under progress and will be completed in a time bound manner, informed the CEO General Council during the meeting.
Also, during the meeting the block wise issues and grievances related to the various departments of PHE, Health, JPDCL, Education, PWD etc were highlighted by the DDC and BDC members which were noted down by CEO General Council.The necessary directions were given to the concerned officers for immediate resolution of these highlighted issues.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson stressed upon the concerned executive agencies to expedite the pace on the ongoing developmental projects in the district and ensure the projects taken up under the FY 2023-24 are completed ahead of the ensuing winters.
She also stressed upon the executing agencies to mobilise the men and machinery at work place at full capacity to achieve the targets.
The DDC Chairperson exhorted upon all the departments to work in tandem to ensure the encumbrances which are hampering the developmental works are removed and projects are completed in a timely manner.
