DC reviews progress of JJM works in Kathua District

KATHUA, Sept 18: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rakesh Minhas today chaired a meeting of concerned officers and contractors to review the progress achieved under flagship Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.
At the outset, Superintendent Engineer Hydraulic R. K Gupta apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the financial and physical progress achieved under the Mission.
The DC, while interacting with contractors executing the JJM work, emphasised upon them to complete all assigned works within stipulated timeframes. He further called upon the executing agencies to ensure no laxity in execution of the works and asked for penalizing the defaulters.
Underlining the need for quality asset creation within set timelines, the DC called upon the engineers to take PRIs on board for proper monitoring of the assets being created in their respective areas. He further called for speeding up the works to rule out any chance of carrying forward any financial liabilities.
Issues such as construction of Overhead tanks, slow sand filtration plant and Rapid Sand filtration plants remained the focal point of concern wherein DC passed directions to all concerned to mobilize men and machinery for achieving progress before the cut-off timelines.
Earlier, SE Hydraulic gave a brief account of the works undertaken wherein he informed about the status of all allotted works, including OHTs, Regarding Slow sand filtration plant, Rapid Sand filtration plant.
CPO Kathua Uttam Singh, XEN PHE Kathua and other concerned officers were also present.
