Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 19: Thirty-three percent reservation to women in Parliament and Assemblies has the potential to be a “game changer” as not only will such a step change patriarchal mindsets but also boost pro-women legislation, “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam” open the gateway for the women power said BJP District President BJP Jammu South, Rekha Mahajan during the celebrations organized by BJP Mahila Morcha District President Jammu South Divya Jain along with BJP team members.
Rekha said, that being the first women District President of Jammu South from the union territory of J&K, wholeheartedly welcomes the historic decision and women now understand that all they required was an equal opportunity to compete, equal access to resources, and an acknowledgment of their achiievement. When the Prime Minister speaks of women-led development, it’s a tectonic shift in narrative terms. Women are not pleading, they’re leading, Rekha said. The BJP, which is the leading party in the ruling NDA, had in its pre-election manifesto said that it is committed to 33 percent reservation in parliamentary and state assemblies. She said it’s a historical move in favor of women’s empowerment.
Rekha, glorified the government’s decision, hailing it as a step towards justice and women’s empowerment. She underlined that this move aligns with PM Modi’s vision and will propel the nation in the right direction. Rekha expressed gratitude to the Central leadership, stating that the 33 percent reservation for women is a gift from the Prime Minister that will empower women to shape the nation’s laws in Parliament.
BJP leader, Rekha Mahajan, salutes this historic move towards greater gender representation marks a significant milestone in Indian politics, reflecting a commitment to fostering inclusivity and empowering women in legislative bodies and the Women’s Reservation Bill is a significant piece of legislation aimed at promoting gender equality and women’s participation in politics. The preparations suggest that the BJP and the government are keen to showcase their commitment to empowering women and advancing the cause of women’s rights through this bill, she added.
