Govt SPMR College of Commerce hosts successful open campus drive in collaboration with IFBI and NIIT

JAMMU, Sept 20: The Manodarpan Career Counselling Cell of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce orchestrated an Open Campus Drive in partnership with IFBI and NIIT, offering a gateway to final year and graduating students for the coveted position of Relationship Manager with ICICI Bank.
The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal of the college, Mr. Rahul Sharma, Head of NIIT J&K, Shakun Sharma, Centre Head of NIIT J&K, Prof. Barbara Kaul, Head of the Commerce Department, Prof. Savita Jamwal, Head of the Economics Department, Dr. Monika Malhotra, IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Sandhya Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Shipra Gupta, Dr. Jagmeet Kaur, Prof. Shreya Sharma, Dr. Fayza, Dr. Deepak Pathania, and Dr. Sarabjeet Kour.
Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal of the college, commended the efforts of the committee members in organizing such a significant event. He expressed gratitude to the IFBI and NIIT teams for bringing the placement drive to the college, providing students with a convenient opportunity. Dr. Kumar explained the primary purpose of the drive and encouraged students to make the most of it, as it would familiarize them with the job selection process.
Prof. Ashu Manhas, Coordinator of the Manodarpan Career Counselling Cell, welcomed the attendees and elaborated on the various initiatives undertaken by the cell to bridge the gap between academia and the corporate world. Mr. Rahul Sharma, Head of NIIT J & K, shared valuable insights with the students, highlighting the distinctions between life within and outside the college campus. He also elucidated the entire selection process for the open campus drive, providing students with a comprehensive understanding.
A significant number of students participated in the drive, seeking guidance and knowledge to align their qualifications and aptitude with suitable job opportunities. During the screening process, 16 promising candidates were shortlisted for the subsequent qualifying round. This stage includes an English test, a Profiler test, and concludes with an Aptitude test in the final round.
The seamless execution of the entire event was credited to Prof. Apfan Ali, Head of the Urdu Department, while Prof. Ashu Manhas, Coordinator of the Manodarpan Career Counselling Cell, efficiently managed the proceedings.
The Open Campus Drive at Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, in collaboration with IFBI and NIIT, not only provides students with a valuable chance to kickstart their careers but also exemplifies the institution's commitment to fostering a strong connection between education and the professional world.
