GDC Akhnoor hosts collage and essay writing competition in celebration of Gandhi Jayanti

AKHNOOR, Sept 20: Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor organized a Collage and Essay Writing Competition as part of a series of events dedicated to commemorating the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti. This event was conducted in collaboration with the English, Hindi, and Dogri Departments under the able guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr) Romilla Malla Bhat.
Participation and Winners:
Numerous students participated in these competitions, showcasing their creativity and writing skills. The results of the competitions were as follows:
Essay Writing Competition (Hindi Department):
1st Place: Samita Sharma (Semester 3), 2nd Place: Shivani (Semester 2), 3rd Place: Janvi Sharma (Semester 2) and 4th Place: Ruhi Chib (Semester 3)
Collage Making Competition (Dogri and Hindi Departments):
1st Place: Sanjana (Semester 5, Dogri Department), 2nd Place: Tania Sharma (Semester 5, Dogri Department) and 3rd Place: Riya and Priya (Semester 3, Hindi Department)
Essay Writing Competition (English Department):
1st Place: Tamana Sharma (Semester 5), 2nd Place: Aastha Bral (Semester 5) and 3rd Place: Sakshi Sharma (Semester 5)
The competitions were judged by a panel of distinguished faculty members, including Prof. Seema Bhau (HOD Sociology), Prof. Rashmi Sharma (HOD Political Science), Prof. Sukriti Sharma (Department of English), Prof. Deepika (Department of Hindi), and Prof. Skindya Sharma (Department of Dogri).
The event was conducted smoothly under the guidance of Prof. Aksa, Prof. Urmil, and Prof. Nisha.
The Collage and Essay Writing Competition at GDC Akhnoor not only provided students with a platform to showcase their talents but also allowed them to reflect on the enduring legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. The thoughtful essays and creative collages contributed to the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and the promotion of his principles of truth, non-violence, and social harmony.
