Students showcase talent in depicting truth and non-violence as key themes

RS PURA, Sept 20: In commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti, the Department of Sociology at [College Name] organized an engaging poster making competition under the patronage of Dr. Rajni Bhagat, the esteemed Principal of the college. This event was conducted in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, reflecting on the theme of "Relevance of Gandhian's Philosophy in Contemporary Times."
The competition provided students with a platform to express their creativity and insights through poster art, focusing on Mahatma Gandhi's enduring philosophy of Truth and Non-Violence. The participation was overwhelming, with a significant number of students actively taking part in the event.
The entire program was conducted under the able supervision of Prof. Jai Mala Thakur, Head of the Department of Sociology, who ensured its smooth execution.
The competition was judged by a panel of esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Savtanter Kour, Head of the History Department, Dr. Kiran Pathania, Assistant Professor in the Department of English, and Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education.
The competition showcased exceptional creativity and talent among the students. The winners were announced as follows:
First Position: Dushyant Sharma (Semester 3)
Second Position (Shared): Sudiksha Bhagat and Suman Kumari (Semester 3)
Third Position: Anjali Mehra (Semester 3)
The worthy Principal of the college presented certificates to the winners, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the event.
The event was attended by several esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Balwinder Kour, Head of the Physics Department, Prof. Balwan Singh, Head of the Hindi Department, Dr. Anuradha Sharma, Head of the Punjabi Department, and Prof. Meenakshi from the Department of Dogri.
Dr. Rajni Bhagat, the Principal of the college, extended her heartfelt congratulations to the competition winners, acknowledging their dedication and creativity in commemorating the principles of Mahatma Gandhi.
The poster making competition not only paid homage to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi but also demonstrated the immense talent and creativity of the students in portraying the timeless relevance of Gandhian philosophy in today's world.
