DC Rajouri listens to public grievances at Border Block Seri

RAJOURI, Sept 20: In an exemplary display of responsive governance, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, spearheaded a successful Weekly Block Diwas session at border block Seri, dedicated to addressing the pressing concerns of the public.
The event saw a vibrant exchange of ideas and concerns, with citizens and their representatives bringing to the forefront a wide range of issues affecting their daily lives. These included road maintenance, staffing shortages in government institutions, water scarcity, and healthcare infrastructure improvements. Specific issues which were raised during the event were agriculture camps to be organised, scarcity of water across different panchayats of block, Requirement of one dental chair at Seri, issues related to irrigation and flood control, Pension related issues, among others.
Speaking at the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal affirmed the unwavering commitment of the District Administration to ensuring that essential services reach the citizens at their doorstep. He recognized the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in achieving the developmental goals of the district and encouraged them to persist in their endeavors for the greater good.
In a remarkable display of efficiency, the DC issued immediate directives to concerned departments to expedite the resolution of highlighted issues. Several matters were promptly resolved on-site through the dedicated efforts of concerned authorities.
Responding to water scarcity issue across Seri Block, Deputy Commissioner Vikas kundal has instructed the Executive Engineer (XEn) of the Jal Shakti Department to take immediate measures to address the situation. Simultaneously, recognizing the need for a dental chair in Seri, the Deputy Commissioner has directed the Chief Medical Officer to expedite its procurement and installation, ensuring the access of the residents to quality healthcare.
The Deputy Commissioner has also taken a proactive stance in informing the public about crucial border welfare schemes such as BADP, SSY, and SRE. In a compelling appeal, he emphasized the significant advantages that can be harnessed through these schemes. Furthermore, the DC highlighted the upcoming summary revision and the vital special camps scheduled for September 23rd and 24th, underscoring their importance for the community.
The Executive Engineer (XEn) of the Power Development Department (PDD) has confirmed that the technical assessment of the receiving station at Gagriote has been completed and it will resolve the problem of the area regarding power supply.
Most Sarpanches of the block also lauded the extensive coverage of deserving cases under PMAY, with only a few pending. DC has assured swift resolution of these pending cases, reaffirming the commitment to ensure every eligible beneficiary receives PMAY benefits.
The DC emphasized the importance of ongoing progress and cooperation among all stakeholders to ensure an improved quality of life for the residents of the district.
The Weekly Block Diwas, conducted at Seri, achieved resounding success as numerous public concerns were not only discussed but also swiftly resolved.
The public lauded the Block Diwas initiative and applauded the tireless efforts of the district administration in finding solutions to their problems. This platform has proven invaluable for direct interaction between the public and district authorities, fostering a sense of satisfaction among all participants. The commitment of the Deputy Commissioner to addressing the grievances of the citizens in a time-bound manner has reinforced faith in responsive governance in Rajouri district.
