The event, organized under the banner of "Nasha Mukt Bharat" and "Bhrashtachaar Mukt J&K," highlighted the timeless relevance of Gandhi's vision and its importance in contemporary society.
Mahatma Gandhi's profound influence on India and the world was celebrated through an intra-college declamation contest on the theme of "Truth and Non-Violence."
The event emphasized the significance of Mahatma Gandhi's life journey, which continues to inspire individuals to lead a life guided by truth and moral values.
Gandhi, revered as the Father of the Nation, dedicated his life to India's freedom movement and advocated for social integration, love for humanity, and socialism to create a classless society with no poverty, hunger, or unemployment.
The declamation contest was organized to commemorate the International Day of Non-Violence and was part of the Gandhi Jayanti Celebration 2023.
Students from both semester 3 and semester 5 presented their valuable perspectives on the theme of Truth and Non-Violence.
The first prize was awarded to Taniya Jamwal of BA Sem-III, while the second position was shared by Abhishek Rajra, Tanshu, and Haroon Malik of BA Sem-V. The third prize was secured by Nikita Sharma of Sem-V.

The competition was adjudged by Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science), Prof. Renuka Kundal (Lecturer, Dept. of Political Science), and Dr. Neelam Kumari (Lecturer, Dept. of Hindi).
In her address, Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta, the Principal, highlighted that Gandhian philosophy is rooted in concepts of truth, satyagraha, honesty, and non-violence, providing psychological strength for a sound and healthy life. She stressed the importance of character and personality development in education, quoting Gandhi's belief that when character is lost, everything is lost.
Prof. Anita Jamwal, HOD Political Science, presented the final vote of thanks, and all participants were awarded certificates for their valuable contributions.
