| Park properly or get tyres deflated | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 2- Jammu and Kashmir police traffic authorities have embarked on a unique exercise to teach a lesson to traffic rule violators and to those who wrongly park their vehicles on the road sides for longer duration. These days, apart from issuing challan to traffic violators, traffic police authorities deflate tyres of two wheelers and sometime to four wheelers parked wrongly. A similar drive was carried out in posh green belt area of Gandhi Nagar on Monday morning where vehicles parked outside study centre of Punjab Technical University were deflated by traffic police cops in the presence of senior officers. Several students who were studying inside were taken aback when they saw deflated tyres of their motorbikes and two wheelers. A senior traffic police officer supervising the drive on the spot said, that traffic police is carrying out a drive to spread awareness among motorists to safely park their vehicles at marked locations and avoid penalty for wrongly parking their vehicles. Several students unhappy with the traffic police action argued there are several VVIP vehicles which are wrongly parked here and there but traffic police authorities never deflate their tyres not issue them challan. Admitting their fault the students said that they would cheer traffic police cops if they would carry out similar drive against VIP's vehicles and government servants. At several other places traffic police cops verified valid documents and issued challans to violators. Taking several other measures to decongest the city roads the traffic police authorities have been regularly carrying out road clearing drills and remove wrongly parked vehicles and slap hefty penalty wherever vehicle are parked in wrong lane or roadside
