GDC Ghagwal marks International Day of Peace, Gandhi Jayanti with Poster Making, Hindi Storytelling Contest

GHAGWAL, Sept 21: Government Degree College (GDC) Ghagwal celebrated the International Day of Peace in conjunction with Gandhi Jayanti on September 21, 2023. The event was organized to commemorate the values of peace, truth, and non-violence, as advocated by Mahatma Gandhi. It featured a poster-making competition and a Hindi storytelling contest, which were well-received by both students and staff.
GDC Ghagwal celebrated the International Day of Peace in conjunction with Gandhi Jayanti, highlighting the significance of peace and Gandhian principles.
Dr. Sujata Slathia, the Principal of the college, along with Dr. Vani Awasthi, NSS Programme Officer, and Dr. Rahul Verma, Head of the Political Science Department, organized a poster-making competition to mark the International Day of Peace. Dr. Slathia commended the students for their efforts and encouraged them to embrace the values of peace, truth, and non-violence, as championed by Mahatma Gandhi.
Archana Devi, a student from Semester V, earned the distinction of having her poster adjudged as the best among all submissions.
In parallel, as part of the Hindi Pakhwara celebration, Dr. Kajal and Ms. Harvinder Kour organized a "Kahani Lekhan Pratiyogita" (Hindi Storytelling Contest). Students were tasked with creating their own content and crafting a story with a moral theme centered around truth and non-violence.
